BIOGRAPHY

Darian Volkova is an expert in ballet photography, official project photographer with the Mariinsky Theater, and a former ballet dancer herself. Also, she is the head of Darian Volkova Ballet Production and the editor-in-chief of WorldOfBallet.com online magazine, a member of the Union of Photographers in Russia, the author of the first online course for photographers on ballet photography, an Alfa professional by Sony.

Darian has worked with prima ballerinas and soloists of major European and Russian theaters, having shot in 20 countries around the world. She is a finalist and winner of international ballet and art photography competitions. Her works are featured in private collections in the USA, Germany, UK, Australia, Hong Kong, Italy, Switzerland, the vaults of the Russian Museum and the Sheremetev Palace in St Petersburg, the ROSPHOTO Museum and Exhibition Center.

Her work has been published in The Washington Post, Instagram Blog, Metro, Practical Photography, ELLE, Broadway Dance Magazine, eToday, CPANet, The Post Internazionale, ADME, Kurier, My Modern Met, Metropoles, Russia Beyond the Headlines, gbTimes, Dance Spirit, and others.
